Phek, July 18 (MExN): Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Phek conducted a sensitization programme through meeting on Measles-Rubella (MR) campaign on July 17 at CMO conference hall for CDPO, Supervisors, Coordinators EBRC and Education Department.
MR campaign activities and strategies to implement the programme were highlighted by Dr. Kolhitso Khalo District Immunization Officer. He briefed that for successful implementation of the campaign inter-sectoral coordination from all the allied departments is important. He also emphasized the roles and responsibilities of the different departments during the campaign.
He therefore urged the allied departments to give coordination and supports during the vaccination campaign to achieve 100% vaccination coverage as stated by Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer NHM Phek.
Dr. Kulo Kapfo highlighted the main objectives of the MR campaign which would start from October 3, 2018. He informed that all children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years will be vaccinated in schools and in all health centres.
The activities which will implement during the campaign at schools and health centres were also briefed to the participants.
Dr. Kulo also stated that information to the blocks by the respective departments, monitoring during the MR campaign and supports from the different departments is important to carried out the program.
The meeting was attended by CDPO Phek, Sr. Supervisor ICDS Meluri, Coordinators EBRC Pfutsero and Phek, Supervisors ICDS of Chizami, Pfutsero, Kikruma, JEO (under SDEO) Phek, District coordinators RMSA Phek, SHP coordinator Phek and VCCM Phek.
