Sensitization workshop for state NGOs held at Dmp

Dimapur, September 27 (MExN): One-day state level sensitization workshop for NGOs on provisions of RTE Act, 2009, NCPCRs Regulatory Guidelines for hostels of leveraging CSR initiatives for Child Education & Child Welfare and Child Wellbeing was held at Conference Hall, DC Office, Dimapur on September 27.  

According to a DIPR report, Chairman, Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Awan Konyak highlighted the Rights of children to free and compulsory education. She added that the objective of the Act is not just to add statistical numbers to our literacy index but to provide quality education and this will be possible only when we as adults shoulder the responsibility to ensure quality education to all the children for a brighter, prosperous and a peaceful tomorrow.  

A PowerPoint presentation on key provisions as per RTE Act, 2009 and JJ Act, 2015 for hostels and homes, regulatory guidelines for hostels and homes for educational institution was presented by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Expert, Paresh Shah and LCPO Dimapur, Moajungla gave a power point presentation on Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.  

Around 150 participants attended the programme.  

The workshop was chaired by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights Expert, Paresh Shah. The program was organised by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR)
