The Eastern Naga Students’ Federation (ENSF) on Sunday reiterated its stand on its charter of demand with regard to the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) and Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC).

Speaking to The Morung Express, ENSF President Sepili L Sangtam  said that the Federation is ‘serious’ about its demands after the deadline given to the State government lapsed on January 10.

The Federation had set a deadline for the State cabinet to fulfill its charter of demand (NSSB&NPSC) before January 10, 2021.

Sangtam informed that, while the Federation had suspended its agitation on December 11 last, it had not received ‘any positive communication’ from the government till date.

The ENSF along with its 6 federating units—Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU), Khaimniungan Students’ Union (KSU), Konyak Students’ Union (KSU), Phom Students’ Conference (PSC), United Sangtam Students’ Conference, and Yimchunger Akheru Arih-Ako (YAA) had resolved to consider the appeal letter from the cabinet sub-committee, P&AR Department issued on December 7.

“Consequent upon the letter received from the Cabinet Sub-Committee P&AR, the ENSF have decided to temporarily suspend its agitation,” the ENSF had stated.

It may be recalled that the ENSF had also cautioned that, in case of failure to fulfill its demands, it would resume its agitation in a “more extreme form even up to the extent of taking law and order situation into its hand.”
