Newmai News Network Shillong | August 27 The main accused of the sex racket unearthed by police in Madanrting in Meghalaya is still at large while the seven other accused were produced in court on Sunday. It was informed that the main accused Sameer in connection with the prostitution racket was moving in an alto car. And while attempts were made by the police to nab him, he somehow managed to give them a slip and escaped. “He is still at large and we are trying to nab him at the earliest,” informed Police. Stating that seven of those involved in the case was produced in court on Sunday, police informed that the other the two minors were put up in shelter home. Acting on tip off, police had on Saturday busted a prostitution racket at Mawblei, Madanrting Block B and arrested six sex workers and four men including a pimp and 3 personnel of 22 Assam Rifles. Among the girls, some are from Khanapara and others from Garo Hills of Meghalaya. Two of the girls are minors. A case under Immoral Traffic Prevention Act was registered.
