Dimapur, Nov 14 (MExN): The Seyochung Village Council has refuted the claims of one V Shivito as GB of the Sumi community of the village as ‘nothing but fabrication’.
“No doubt, he had been appointed as GB but through the recommendation of Seyochung village elders and been given responsibility of GB as claimed and published. Also it is known fact that every council/organization/community/group governs with its rules/regulations and above all there is law in guiding one and all in the society in the right perspective and vision” according to a clarification issued by L Khaliba Sangtam Chairman of the village council.
However, Shivito in due course of time holding post of GB, had cross-violated council resolutions, particularly Sl. No-19 and 42.
The council along with the village members decided on penalizing the defaulter and thereafter terminated him from the post of GB. A copy of the decision was endorsed to the Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, it was informed. Later, on his own volition, Shivito, along with three of his family members, shifted all their belongings to Seyochung town and settled there. Hence, his claim to be the chairman of the Sumi community of Seyochung village is nothing but fabrication, the village council stated.
The village council also clarified that there are no two communities as claimed by Shivito. “It is all unfounded and if such exist it may be his self-styled functioning.
When there is no misunderstanding where is the disunity created? From time immemorial the citizens of Seyochung village are living as brothers and sisters peacefully, the coucil stated.
The Seyochung Village Council stand for (uplift) of the village affairs and questions of depriving the citizens is all fictitious” the council stated. No harassment or disunity prevails in the village but the communities are working hand in hand fro the well-being of the village to compete with other governing standards, the council asserted.
