Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): The Seyochung Area Students Union has extended full support to the demand of the United Sangtam Students’ Conference serving an ultimatum to the two factions of the NSCN over the January 19 murder of one village guard identified as Seopi Sangtam. Mention may be made here that both the factions of the NSCN were issued a deadline of 48 hours to surrender their respective culpable cadres by the Sangtam students’ community over the January 19 murder of Seopi Sangtam, a village guard (VG) in Kiphire. The culpable cadres are demanded to be produced before the United Sangtam Students’ Conference.
The SASU fully support the demand of the USSC’s ultimatum to the NSCN-IM and NSCN-K to bring justice to the people and students’ organizations at the deadline set, the SASU stated in a note issued through its president Lichumse Sangtam and Kyupise Anar.
The SASU stated that the ugly incident be sorted out amicably by the concern authority before the public goes out on rampage against the culprits irrespective of whether they are underground cadres or civilians involved in the January 19 murder incident. The students’ organization has urged upon all right-thinking citizens to condemn the heinous act. The SASU has also offered its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that God would grant them solace in this hour of pain and loss.
