KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 20 (MExN): The Seyochung Area GBs Association has drawn the attention of the state government on the ‘impending danger of starvation and death’ due shortage of essential commodities. The shortage has been caused by the affected Kohima-Kiphire road that had been cut off by landslides since last month, which remains unrestored. The GBs Association, in a release issued by its president, Tsalipi Sangtam, said that it is unfortunate that even after a lapse of nearly a month the government and the concern department are silent on the problem, making people the ultimate sufferers.“There is every likelihood of starvation and death as there is no supply of essential commodities and medicines, not to speak of serious patient requiring immediate medical attention from outside the district”, the release warned. While making a fervent appeal to the government to press in emergency measures to restore the affected road, the lifeline of the area, the GBs appealed to ‘save people from the impending danger of starvation and death.’
