Installation of separate transformer for DMDH ‘unsuccessful’ despite repeated effort
Wokha, January 20 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr Tumchobeni Kikon while presenting the District COVID-19 scenario at the monthly Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting stated that the oxygen plant at Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital remain non-functional due to shortage of power supply (electricity) and seek the intervention of the board.
Accoprding to a DIPR report, the CMO was addressing the meeting held at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha on January 20.
While deliberating on this issue, the Vice Chairman DPDB and DC Wokha, Orenthung Lotha said that in-spite of repeated effort from the Wokha DPDB and DTF for COVID-19, installation of separate transformer for the Hospital was unsuccessful.
“The Board has requested the department concerned to install the same at the earliest as various health care equipments/facilities installed at the hospital has become non-functional,” the DC informed.
M/S District Hospital while briefing on the preparedness status on COVID-19 stated that at present the hospital has 10 ICUs, 4 Isolation and 9 beds. The CMO also requested all concerned to spread awareness and encourage and motivate public to get vaccinated as the department will be conducting colony-wise vaccination drive from next week.
The board recommended the registration of society- NNM Foundation, Pangti Village for consideration to higher authority. Department of Industries while presenting PowerPoint highlighted the various schemes and activities undertaken by the department.
It may be mentioned that a 250 LPM PSA oxygen plant was inaugurated by MLA Dr Chumben Murry at the Dr Motsuo Memorial District Hospital (DMMDH), Wokha in October 2021.
