Dimapur, December 20 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V Nagi has expressed concern over the “deteriorating political situation” and called for peace and unity to prevail in the Naga Homeland.
It is very sad to see the incidents of violence and killings taking place with the festive season right around the corner, a time intended of peace and joy, it said.
‘We strongly condemn all the killings taking place during the merriest time of the year, celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ,’ stated the NNC (Parent Body) press release issued by its Information & Publicity Wing.
Stating that all these act of violence must stop for the sake of the people to peacefully and happily celebrate the birth of the Messiah, it appeal to all those concerned and groups to shun violence.
“Let peace and unity prevail in the Homeland for the best interest of our people and our Freedom,” it said.
“As the Parent Body of the Naga people rooted in the principles of Non-Violence, we the NNC will always stand for peace and National unity, upholding the interest of the entire people in the region,” it added.
The NNC (Parent Body) once again wished everyone in the Homeland and beyond a very Joyous Christmas and a Prosperous New Year of 2024.
