Shürhozelie Leizietsü re-elected as NPF president

Dr. Shürhozelie Leizietsü has been re-elected as the president of Naga People’s Front (NPF). This was announced during the general convention 2019 of the NPF here at Naga Solidarity Park.
Dr. Leizietsü, including working presidents Apong Pongener, Dr Huskha Yepthomi, secretary general KG Kenye and other central office bearers and frontal wings for the tenure 2020-2024 took oath before election board chairman, Y Vikheho Swu.
Later, TR Zeliang congratulated the new team of NPF central office bearers and all frontal organizations.
“As we look forward towards a new beginning, let us renew ourselves with the passion and purpose to take our party forward. Let us also re-dedicate ourselves to work for the cause of the Naga people while continuing our endeavor of carrying the dreams and aspirations of the Naga people foreword,” Zeliang said.
The convention resolved and expressed confidence in the leadership of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu as the party's president and the leadership of the NPF Legislature Wing under TR Zeliang.
Urges Naga negotiating groups to come together
Later, the general convention appreciated the Government of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nagaland Governor cum Interlocutor for the Indo-Naga issue, RN Ravi, and the Naga negotiating groups for understanding the Naga issue.
The convention appealed to the Naga negotiating groups - the NSCN (IM) and the 7 NNPG (WC) to come together and bring about early solution.
It further appealed all the neighboring states to extend positive cooperation with mutual respect for peaceful coexistence. The convention urged also Naga people to be more positive towards peaceful settlement of the present Indo-Naga political dialogue.
