SIR in Nagaland: EF digitisation nears 50% as two weeks remain

Nagaland’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll has moved further ahead, with 97.22% of Enumeration Forms (EFs) distributed and 47.64% digitised as of 4 pm on August 31, according to the latest status report of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland.

The latest figures show that 13,19,476 EFs have been distributed against the State’s total electorate of 13,57,208, leaving just 2.78% yet to be covered.

Digitisation, meanwhile, has reached 6,46,580 EFs, or 47.64% of the total electorate, bringing the State within a few percentage points of the halfway mark.

Pughoboto currently leads the State in EF digitisation at 67.16%, followed by Kiphire (64.34%), Meluri (61.68%) and Mon (58.32%). Tuensang has also crossed the 50% mark at 52.95%, while Zunheboto stands at 52.83% and Peren at 50.12%.

At the lower end, digitisation remains below 30% in Noklak (28.49%), while Chümoukedima (31.27%), Longleng (34.46%) and Wokha (39.28%) continue to trail the State average.

EF distribution is now at or above 95% in most districts. Mokokchung, Longleng, Noklak and Tseminyu have reported 100% distribution, while Wokha stands at 99.95%, Phek at 99.27% and Peren at 99.25%. Shamator (92.07%) and Mon (92.32%) have the lowest distribution rates, followed by Tuensang at 93.86%.

The latest figures indicate that while physical distribution of EFs is close to completion statewide, the pace of digitisation remains considerably more uneven across districts.

A total of 860 EFs have also been submitted online by electors, up from 799 reported on August 29.

With the house-to-house distribution and collection exercise scheduled to continue until September 14, the election machinery has two weeks to complete the remaining distribution and digitise the collected forms.

As per the official SIR timeline, the draft electoral roll is due to be published on September 20, while the final electoral roll is scheduled for publication on November 22, 2026.
