Sisterhood Network conducts legal seminar

Medziphema, April 9 (MExN): The team from Sisterhood Network has successfully conducted a legal seminar on April 9 at Town Hall Medziphema on the theme, ‘Living in tranquility , Respect, Reconcile and Restore.’  

The resource person were from Legal Service Authority, Advocate Esther Aye, penal Advocate of Legal Service Authority Dimapur and Limasenla Longkumar who also hold the designation of Penal Legal Advocate from Legal Service Authority in collaboration with the team of women group in Medziphema and the town committee members.  

The participants present were diverse in nature as they were mostly representatives of different community and tribal leaders and Church leaders who were male counterparts representing their tribes as Medziphema is a diverse community living together the aim of Sisterhood Network is thus to achieve the specified theme.

  The resource personnel covered topics on Custom and human rights, Child trafficking, Domestic violence and Juvenile Justice Care and protection (JJ Act 2000). The session was followed by a panel discussion and a short presentation of the various schemes of the most vulnerable section of the society such as women, child and elders. Some of the other topics covered at the session are on provisions and schemes that can be easily availed by the community. Schemes consist of Janani–Shishu Suraksha Karyakram (JSSK), a national initiative to make available better health facilities for women and child, The National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) For Elderly Citizens and many more.  

The team from Sisterhood Network conveyed gratitude to all the stakeholders and also participants for their participation and contribution and effort of making the programme achieved its objectives.
