Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): The Department of Social Work, St. Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur conducted rural camp for the Bachelors of Social Work at Khuzama Village from August 9 to September 4. 


A press release from SJU stated that a total of 27 students along with two faculties took part in the rural camp. The Department of Social Work, SJU organized tree plantation and cleanliness drive to promote the importance of individual responsibility in safeguarding biodiversity.


A survey was conducted on ‘Socio-economic, health and education’ status of the village for educational purpose. During their stay at the village, the students interacted with elders of the village to understand the society and culture. A session was organized on career planning and confidence building for Classes 9 and 10 students in the village. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was conducted to make the social work students understand the landscape and resources of the village.
