Skill up-gradation on cutting, tailoring for women, girls

Dimapur, April 5 (MExN): Center for Empowerment of Women and Child (CEWC), Signal Angami Village, Dimapur, run by Kenourhe Thenumiapfüko Society, provides training on cutting and tailoring, dress designing, cosmetology and music with hostel facilities for unemployed dropout girls to make a difference in their lives, to pursue their livelihoods, to empower themselves through economic self sufficiency, and build self esteem for social well being. Through the same programme, North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) sponsored three months skill up-gradation training on cutting and tailoring under CPLT activities for twenty beneficiaries from January 18 to March 31.

The training enabled unemployed women and girls to enhance their skills and confidence level by making them self reliant. Apart from the regular training, the CEWC also imparts to the beneficiaries work ethics, dignity of labour, and motivational sessions.   During the closing of the three months training, the Branch Manager Vimeyiel Richa along with Detono Tepa (AM) gave away the “Certificates of Participation” to all the participants.   Stating that NEDFi’s support has been invaluable not only to the training centre but more importantly to the beneficiaries, the CEWC hoped that this type of training will go a long way in empowering the weaker section of the society.
