Skill Training of Rural Youth underway in Kohima

Kohima, August 28 (MExN): Office of the Senior Scientist and Head Krishi Vigyan Kendra(KVK), Kohima under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India in collaboration with National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and State Agricultural Management and Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland organized Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) on the topics ‘Mushroom Production Techniques’ and ‘Poultry Rearing and Management’ which began from August 27 at the training hall of KVK, Kohima.
Dr Temjennungsang ACTO (Animal Science) delivering the keynote address said that the six days programme was aimed to impart skill-based training to rural youth on Agri-based vocational areas in compliance with National Policy Skill Development & Entrepreneurship-2015 in agriculture and allied areas to promote employment in rural areas. The main object of this programme was to offer modular skill training opportunities to rural youths including farmers on local needs and create a pool of skilled manpower to perform farm and non-farm operations. This was stated in a press release by Dr V Akashe Zhimomi, Senior Scientist and Head KVK, Kohima. Altogether 32 participants from New Tesophenyu, Penda and Tseminyu villages attended the programme.
