
Kohima, September 9 (MExN): The Department of Agriculture has informed that the new Central Sector Scheme of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PM-KMDY) has been implemented in the State of Nagaland.
A DIPR report stated that PM-KMDY is a voluntary and contributory based pension scheme administered by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in partnership with LIC. Small and Marginal Farmers (SMF) who owns cultivable land up to 2 hectare and below and are in the age group of 18-40 years are eligible to subscribe and will receive minimum assured pension of Rs. 3000/- per month after attaining the age of 60 years. Agriculture Department is the Nodal Department for this Scheme in the State and will be involved in enrolment of under the scheme along with Common Service Centres (CSC).
In this regard, all AHODs & HODs of IT & C Department; Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services Department; Land Resource Development Department; Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Department; Horticulture Department and Sericulture Department have been requested to take necessary action for sensitizing and enrolment of SMF in this Scheme.
