Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): Kohima Legends delivered a commanding performance to defeat Old Boys Kohima in a night fixture of the ongoing third edition of the Senior’s Masters League (SML) on January 11.
After Old Boys Kohima opted to field on winning the toss, Kohima Legends produced a dominant batting display, piling up 207/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
The innings was set up by a brisk start from Viketo (24) and Veri (56), before Tapito Thupitopr took charge with a commanding 91, anchoring the innings and powering the total to a formidable score.
In reply, Old Boys Kohima were restricted to 136/7 in 20 overs. Meren Jamir, Kevilelie, Lanunukshi and Wabang Jamir offered resistance with the bat, but the mounting required run rate proved too steep.
Kohima Legends’ bowlers maintained pressure throughout the innings. Thupitopr capped his fine outing with two wickets, Keviselhou Sekhose also picked up two, while Thejasetuo Solo led the attack with an impressive three-wicket haul.
For his all-round performance with both bat and ball, Thupitopr was adjudged Man of the Match.
