Social Welfare Dept, TN visits SRCW

Dimapur, July 28 (MExN): The Department of Social Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu conducted a three-day visit to the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW), Nagaland from July 24-27.  

It was represented by the Joint Director, Deputy Director, and the State Project Coordinator, State Resource Centre for Women, Tamil Nadu and an officer from Intelnet Services, a release here stated.  

The visit was earlier recommended by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, a release said. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a study of the State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) Nagaland Chapter, with regard to the convergence model of the SRCW with special reference to the various central government schemes being implemented by the SRCW, namely the Sakhi-One Stop Centres, the Women Helpline Nagaland, and the Mahila Shakti Kendra, and for knowledge sharing in order to emulate a similar model in the State of Tamil Nadu. It may be mentioned that the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board is the nodal agency for implementing the SRCW in the State, the release further added.  

According to the release, it also said that the officials visited the Women Helpline (181) Nagaland office, established in the premises of the Nagaland State Social Welfare Board and interacted with the Helpline team. A meeting was held with officials of the Department of Social Welfare and Information Technology and Communications, and the Director of Elysium Enterprises, whose firm developed the MIS software for the WHL. The team later met the Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Kohima and OSC, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Temjen Toy.
