Dimapur, April 8 (MExN): Parliamentary Secretary for Irrigation and Flood Control, Jacob Zhimomi inaugurated the panchayat hall of Sodzulhou village on April 8 as chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Jacob pointed out that state is suffering due to excess employment and due to which, government is having to dish out maximum of state’s exchequer to pay the salary of government employees.
Stating that a time has come when people cannot be dependent on government jobs alone, chief guest said there are lots more avenues and opportunities away from government jobs where people could earn income through skill based enterprises. He urged the people to develop work culture and also to teach younger generations the dignity of labour, as there could be no success without hard work. He said government have also created a new department to help people hone their skills.
Development and progress of a village also largely depends on its people, Jacob maintained adding that that people should work together in unity for the greater interest of the village as whole. Spelling his concern for the public he gave his assurance that he would continue to do his best to uplift the people.
Block Development Officer, RD Block Chumukedima, K. Yamao Konyak and Vekhosayi Nyekha, President, Western Chakhesang Hoho delivered short speeches. Former council chairmen of Sodzulhou village council also spoke on the occasion.
Rev. Buliechu Koza, senior pastor, Sodzulhou CRC read a passage from the Bible and pronounced a prayer for the dedication of the panchayat hall. Sodzulhou Students Union presented a welcome song while R. Aruji Koza, chairman, Sodzulhou village council said the welcome address. Mezhulhou Koza, VDB secretary of the village, who chaired the function, presented a brief report on building construction.
Alhou Ngone, head GB, Sodzulhou proposed vote of thanks. Benediction of the function and feast prayer was said by Sevie Koza, pastor, Sodzulhou CRC.
