Soft skill training for construction workers

Dimapur, December 12 (DIPR): A three-day soft skill training for Nagaland building and other construction workers organised by Nagaland Building & Other Construction Worker's Welfare Board, Department of Labour in collaboration with Career Bridge Human Capital Solution Gurgaon, got underway at Government Higher Secondary School, Nagarjan, Dimapur on December 11.

Project Officer, Labour Department, T. Chuba Yanger said that the soft skill training for the construction workers, which was a long felt need, was made into a reality with the initiative and support of Parliamentary Secretary, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu. Highlighting the importance of soft skills for any job, Project Officer said that employability of an individual is not only dependent on solid technical knowledge and skills, but soft skills like communications, teamwork and leadership skills among the workers are equally important as it enhances productivity and successful construction works. He observed that Nagas are good and talented in many fields and with added knowledge of soft skills Nagas can do better than others and become successful and make long-term career in whatever profession they choose to be in.
