Wokha, February 5 (MExN): The Superintendent of Police, Wokha, has informed that a Tenant Registration App, developed by the Nagaland Police, has been launched to strengthen the implementation and monitoring of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) system.
According to the information issued by the SP’s office, the initiative follows Notification No. Home/ILP-36/01/2024/284 dated August 14.
The Tenant Registration App enables digital registration of tenants residing in rented premises through OTP-based verification. House owners renting out premises are required to register on the App using mobile number verification. Tenants will need an OTP from the landlord to complete their registration and may add co-tenants based on the number of persons in a household or family.
As per existing ILP rules, tenants and co-tenants are required to submit their details, which landlords are responsible for certifying. The App also allows landlords to add or remove names whenever there is a change in tenancy, ensuring that tenant records remain accurate and up to date.
The SP’s office stated that the Tenant Registration App has been designed to ensure effective enforcement of ILP regulations, enhance public safety, and maintain a reliable digital record of tenants and co-tenants. The App is available on the Nagaland Police official website and on the Google Play Store.
Citizens, landlords, tenants, village and colony chairmen, and community leaders have been urged to extend full cooperation for the smooth implementation of the initiative in the interest of public safety and lawful compliance. For any assistance, landlords and tenants have been advised to approach their respective police stations.
