‘Space tech application necessity in Nagaland’

Kohima, April 6 (agencies): Nagaland’s Parliamentary Secretary Planning & Coordination, Evaluation and Taxes, Neiba Kronu today said that space technology application has become a necessity.  

Accuracy of all forms of data collected for planning and governance, services of Geospatial Information System (GIS) centre is highly required, he said during Nagaland State Level Meet on “Promoting use of Space Technology and Application in Governance and Development” at Capital Convention Centre here.  

Kronu commented that the present younger Naga generations have learnt to utilise the modern technologies and move forward. He said efforts must begin by increasing the awareness of the benefits of space technology towards the benefit of the people. He also maintained that the state government has been trying to bring in investors for various development activities but they have a second thought after receiving the manually provided data.  

Meanwhile, Nagaland CM, TR Zeliang hoped that the state level meet would encourage efforts of the various departments in making use of technology for day to day governance as well as for delivery of public utility services. He further expressed hope that geographical isolation of the NE would become a thing of the past through use of space tech.
