‘Spiritual Awakening’ conducted for People with Disabilities and Parents

Attendees of the one day Spiritual Awakening for People with Disabilities and Parents, which was held at Khensa Baptist Church.

Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): A one day Spiritual Awakening for People with Disabilities and Parents was held at Khensa Baptist Church organized by Mokokchung District Parents Association for People with Disabilities (MDPAPWD) under the aegis of Care & Support Society, Mokokchung and sponsored by Khensa Baptist Church on March 23, 2013 under the theme: “God Loves everyone equally”. 

A press note issued to Media informed that the main speaker of the day was Lipok Pongen (Promoter, ABAM International Mission). Chujang, Wai, Niken, Sunep, and Temsu, all from Mokokchung town were the counsellors for the program. 

Pastor Khensa Baptist Church welcomed all the organizer, staffs Of Care & Support Society, Speaker and Counselors. In his welcome speech, he said that it was a blessing for the church and village for having such a program in the village. Self introduction of the congregation was monitored by  Imchawati Kichu, Chairman, Care & Support Society which was followed by the keynote address and vote of thanks shared by Mar Namo, President, 

MDPAPWD.   The counsellor organized a mass prayer for the confession of sins and prayer for the Disabled based on Psalms 96:8.

Lipok Pongen delivered the word of God basing on the theme: “God made everyone with a purpose”, where he shared from the story in the Bible about Jacob and Esau and blind Barthemos found in Mark 10:47-50. He also encouraged the congregation especially the disabled persons through the life of a famous preacher Nick Voiges and Olympic gold medallist Wilma Rudolph. The display of short video clips of these persons has touched the heart of the entire congregation.

The note mentioned that the second session started with a special song from Rashilepzuk (Visually Impaired/Blind) and message from the same speaker under the theme: “God loves everyone equally” basing on Psalms 139:13 and Romans 8:38-39.

The most blessed moments of the day was the sharing of problems and prayer with the counsellors by dividing the congregation into different groups with one counsellor each, which had benefited all the persons present in the programme. The programme wrap up with a lunch provided by Khensa Baptist Church. All together 40 PWDs, 40 parents and 15 organizers attended the programme.
