Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): Spring Blossoms Academy, Block-7, Thahekhu village celebrated its third Parents-cum-Children’s Day on October 29. The programme saw colourful and vibrant display of cultural items by students. Speaking on behalf of the parents, Joshua Achumi, Chairman, Yemhi Memorial College, Dimapur and former Deputy Speaker, NLA said education begins from birth and ends with grave, adding education to humanity is an endless process. He reminded that the first Naga educated generation who studied hardly up to 5th or 6th standard did not opt for lucrative job but went back to their respective areas/ranges to impart education to their own people. “There are two types of schools in Nagaland - government and private and despite the education and training of the former they lack sincerity and dedication however private school teachers are sincere and dedicated thus exceedingly doing well,” he further noted, according to a press note. He urged the teachers to have passion for teaching so that quality of students’ education improves. Joshua also urged upon the teachers to build the children’s character while imparting information and knowledge to fight social evils in Nagaland. Also talking about the roles of parents, he viewed that every parent has a vital role to play to fulfil the aspirations and dreams of a child. Towards this, he asked the parents to devote quality time to their children. He hoped that the Spring Blossoms Academy will build up a reputation within no time and compete with any school within Nagaland and beyond. Kitoho S. Rotokha, proprietor of the school delivered welcome address, Shetoni K. Rotokha presented administrator’s note.
