SSU inspects govt schools; cautions erring teachers

• Alleges some schools being run without proper teachers

• Some teachers have not joined duty since their appointments

Tuensang, April 21 (MExN): The Sangphur Students’ Union (SSU) has highlighted the lack/absence of teachers in the government schools under its jurisdiction.

The union inspected four government schools under its jurisdiction from April 16-18 and found that some schools were running without proper teachers, stated a press release from SSU president, M Chuba and executive chairman, W Throngso.

Government High School (GHS) Sangkor reportedly does not have a Headmaster or Assistant Head Master and Science Teacher since many years back, which according to the union, is the cause for poor result.

“There are also cases where some teachers have not attended their duties in the schools right from the day of their appointments,” the release further alleged. “Some are said to be on B.Ed training, but without proper training order.”

The students’ union told the teachers on B.Ed training to submit proper order to respective Village Education Committee/ School Management Committee/ Head Teacher immediately to avoid further inconveniences. SSU further directed those teachers who are not in station to join their duties immediately. The union cautioned that it will take action against erring teachers.
