New Delhi, August 1 (MExN): Navapally Natya Sanstha based in Delhi has announced their upcoming stage adaptation of the book ‘Lajja’ written by Bangladeshi writer, physician, feminist, secular humanist, and activist Taslima Nasrin. The Bengali drama stage production is scheduled at the Muktadhara Auditorium, near Gole Market, New Delhi on August 10.
An update received here stated that “the stage adaptation of ‘Lajja’ promises to bring to life the powerful narrative and profound themes explored in Taslima Nasrin’s seminal work.”
“Through compelling storytelling and captivating performances, the production aims to spark meaningful conversations and reflections on the issues addressed in the book. Incidentally, although the book has been translated and published in various languages all over the world, no movie or play has been staged on this book to date,” it added.
The organisers in the press release said, “We believe that the stage adaptation of ‘Lajja’ presents a timely and relevant opportunity to delve into the themes of religious intolerance, communal tension, and the resilience of the human spirit.
