The stage is all set for 2nd edition of Kohima District Inter School Football Tournament, starting from June 25 at Khuochiezie (Kohima Local Ground).
MLA Khriehu Liezietsu will grace the inaugural function at 1:30 PM on June 25.
Welcome address will be delivered by Er. Khupi Natso, convenor organizing committee while administration of oath will be administered by organizing committee secretary Vichiihu Liezietsu.
The opening match will be played between Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School and Khedi Baptist Higher Secondary School.
30 schools under Kohima district will vie for the coveted champion tile.
The match will be played on a knock out basis.
All matches till quarter finals will be played on the basis of 45mts +10mts+ 45 mtrs with direct penalty shootout.
From quarter finals onwards, extra time of 15mts+ 15mts will be given in case of a draw.
After the first and second semi finals, winner of Pool A will play with loser of Pool B while winner of Pool B will played with the loser of Pool A on its road to the grand finale.
The match timing has been set at 11:00 AM for first match, 12:40 PM- 2nd Match and 2:40- 3rd Match.
The Champion will win a cash prize of Rs. 70,000 while the runners-up will get Rs. 50,000. Semi finalists will also get Rs. 20,000 each.
Cash award amounting to Rs. 5000 each will also be given to best cheering school, best discipline team and player of the tournament.
