Stakeholders trained on ‘common mental illness’

Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Dimapur conducted training for paramedics/ NGOs/ stakeholders on ‘common mental illness’ on July 24 at District Hospital, Dimapur.  

Nodal Officer and Psychiatrist, Dr. Chikrozho Kezo spoke on the topics ‘Alcohol & Drug Uses’ and ‘Depression’. He highlighted that drug abuses are a growing concern in the State and explained regarding the drug and alcohol addiction programmes and treatment options, informed a press release received here.  

Speaking on the topic ‘Anxiety Disorder’, Kezhano, Psychiatric Nurse explained the various types of anxiety disorder, its causes, and the treatment modalities.  

Rubica, Community Nurse explained the role of NGOs in therapeutic communication.  

Earlier, welcome address was proposed by Dr. L Belho, Asst. MS, DHD and word of encouragement was said by Dr. Keneiteiso Sorhie, Deputy Director & SPO, H&FW.  

The delegates for the programme were from Childline, Prodigals’ Home, Bethesda Recovery Home, Missionary of Charity, and Sisterhood Network.
