State BJP legislators leave for Delhi

Dimapur, October 12 (MExN): Nagaland state BJP legislators led by Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y Patton have left for Delhi to meet with the Interlocutor to the Naga Peace Talks AK Mishra, Naga negotiating parties NSCN (IM) and the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs).

The team will also meet with other Central leaders as facilitators, to urge upon them to expedite the protracted Naga Peace Talks by hammering out differences for bringing about an acceptable and honorable solution, a press release from the Dy CM’s Media Cell informed on Tuesday.

“The Nagaland state BJP and its legislators believe that, peace can be achieved only by meaningful and respectable deliberations. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are very serious about solving the Naga issue for the benefit and betterment of the people,” the release stated.

The delegation also extended gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his proactive role in reaching out to different parties during these crucial talks. It also informed that state BJP president and Minister Imna Along who was scheduled to join the team would not be doing so, owing to the demise of former BJP state president and Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency Chairperson Visasolie Lhoungu.
