State education representatives visit universities

Kohima, April 18 (MExN): In view of limited number of reserved seats for students of the State to undergo technical studies, Parliamentary Secretary For Higher & Technical Education Deo Nukhu along with Technical Education Director A. Kathipri and Technical Education Placement Officer David Tsela visited the APG Shimla University and Shoolini University Solan (HP) on April 14 and 15 last.  

A press note stated that the main purpose of the visit was to identify courses of studies for Naga students to undergo job-oriented courses in fashion technology, hotel management, biotechnology, bachelor of pharmacy and engineering courses in these two universities.  

During the visit, the officials met Dr. Ashwani Kumar, Pro-Chancellor of APG Shimla University and former Governor of Nagaland and discussed at length, the various possibilities of collaboration for higher studies in the University.

  The officials also met with Prof. Prem Kumar Khosla, Founder & Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, and other faculty of the University.  

Both the universities are residential, well developed in terms of infrastructure and academics, fully equipped with well set up laboratories, library, and modern amenities for students to pursue higher education.
