State health officials visit Phek

Phek, July 27 (MExN): State monitoring team headed by Dr. Kevichusa Medikhru, Mission Director, National Health Mission along with officials from Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima visited Phek district on July 27 after monitoring Kiphire district.  

The team visited District Hospital, Phek and inspected under construction buildings for school of Nursing and District Hospital, informed a press release from Kutolu Nakro, District Media Officer, Phek.  

It also conducted a district review meeting with the Chief Medical Officer of Phek, Dr. Laso Lazar, Dr. Vethihulu, Deputy CMO, Block SMOs, MOs, DPOs and staffs of the various vertical programs, lab-tech, Nagaland Health Project, counsellors and staffs of CMO establishment at the CMO conference hall here.  

Different vertical programs presented the performance report and challenges.  

According to the release, Dr. Kevichusa requested the health workers to be sincere and serious in their work and be regular in their posting place. Non-performing and irregular staff will be viewed seriously, he cautioned.  

Meanwhile, he directed all the vertical programs to club together and conduct block review meeting and monitor health units. Dr. Kevichusa also directed the health workers to submit the reports regularly. He further spoke on the importance of monitoring and supervision to health units so as to improve the performance status of the district.  

Dr. Tiasunep, SPO, RNTCP briefed that health workers should be regular in their posting place and utilise different facilities provided to the health units.  

During the discussion hour, different district issues were discussed and projected to the State officials. The Mission Director assured the staff that district issues will be put up to the State government.
