Strong storm hits Kohima

Our Correspondent Kohima | October 21   A strong storm hit the state capital Kohima today at around 8:00 PM. The storm uprooted billboards in the commercial areas. However, no major damage to property has been reported at the time of filling this report. During the past 24 hours, several areas in the north east region witnessed moderate to heavy intensity of rains prompting fresh flood threat, particularly in Assam. The intensity of these incessant rains is expected to reduce significantly from tomorrow afternoon or evening hours in the region, as per Skymet Weather, a private weather forecaster. The Indian Metrological Department has also predicted heavy rain at isolated places likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland on October 22.
