Fresh protest demanding justice for the 12-year-old student, who was found dead in her school hostel dormitory in a controversial circumstance, commenced on September 26.


Students protested with black badges at one of the schools in Thangmeiband area, the epicentre of the people’s protest demanding justice for N Babysana, marked the launching of the fresh protest from on Thursday.


Students of St Patrick English School, Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai staged the protest in front of their school after L Gyaneshori, convenor of the JAC formed in connection with the controversial death of the student hoisted a black flag in the school campus.
Talking to reporters at the protest side, the convenor said that the JAC decided to re-launch the protest as the state government had failed to translate into work the assurance regarding the handing over of the case to CBI.


Handing over of the case to CBI is the demand of the JAC which the state government was yet to translate into action even after it had given assurance to the JAC on several occasions.


The convenor said that the JAC suspended all forms of agitations earlier hoping that the chief minister will work out his assurance.
12-year-old N Babysana from Imphal’s Thangmeiband was found dead in her hostel room at Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School in the morning of July18 last.
