Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The Department of Commerce & Management, Tetso College organized an entrepreneur talk session with Ididaule Ngia as the guest speaker on March 3 at the college auditorium.
The resource person was Nagaland’s youngest Gold Director of Oriflame India and a BSc 6th Semester (Anthropology) student of Kohima Science College, Jotsoma.
Referring to herself as a ‘studentpreneur,' Ngia shared her story, experiences and goals stating that her love for part-time jobs was what got her interested in entrepreneurship in the first place.
“When you become an entrepreneur, you become your own boss,” she opined, while adding that the flexibility and freedom in the work environment was one of the many perks in entrepreneurship.
While lamenting that there are more than 70,000 unemployed educated youth in the state, Ngia asserted that “not everyone is born to be a government employee” and challenged the students to venture into entrepreneurship.
Speaking about her experience as an entrepreneur and how she reached her position today, she said that being a student can be very hectic, “but where there is a will, there is a way,” she maintained.
Not only did she shun mobile games and movies completely for two years, but she also managed her time judiciously and would invest her free classes and breaks working for her business.
Having established her network from her hostel dorm in Kohima to now in other parts of the country, Ngia shared that her goal is to help students become financially independent and also to achieve bigger targets in her own field.
At the end of the session, Amar Ranjan Dey, Asst Professor and HoD, Department of Commerce & Management, Tetso College gave the concluding remarks. He expressed gratitude to the resource person for inspiring and being a role model not only to students but to the Naga society as a whole.
