DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN): The first ever Inter-state New Generation Service Exchange (NGSE) youth exchange programme, organized by Rotary club India, brought together students and professionals from across the country in Pune form the event which began on July 10 and will go on till July 28. 

Two students from the Psychology Department of Mount Mary College, Merina Chetri and T Waichang Longchar led by Lipokmongla Lemtur, Student Counsellor (Institute of Psychological Counseling and Educational Research) Mount Mary College, Chümoukedima represented Nagaland in this initiative aimed at fostering national understanding and friendship. The trip was fully sponsored by Mount Mary Management & Rotary Club India.

The students from Mount Mary College, accompanied by their teacher, were selected based on their academic excellence, leadership potential, and keen interest in cultural exchange. 

Throughout their time in Pune, the participants engaged in a wide range of activities designed to immerse them in understanding cultural diversity. They visited historical landmarks, explored renowned educational institutions, and interacted with University's Professors and other professionals. 

The NGSE Youth Exchange Program also provided a platform for the students to share their own cultural heritage. Through presentations and workshops, they showcased the unique aspects of their respective regions, fostering a sense of pride and appreciation among their peers. The participants from Mount Mary College also exhibited a presentation on the cultural diversity of Nagaland. 

Speaking about the program, the participating teacher from Mount Mary College expressed her excitement and gratitude and special thanks to the proprietor of the institute for giving such an opportunity. "The NGSE Youth Exchange Program has been an eye-opening experience for both the students and myself. It has provided us with an opportunity to learn and grow in ways we never thought possible. The bonds we have formed during this journey will remain with us for a lifetime," the teacher said.
