Students’ union demands transformer within three days at Tesophenyu village

Tseminyu, December 13 (MExN): The Tesophenyu Group Students' Union (TGSU) has once again drawn the attention of Power Department, Nagaland for “immediate and alternative arrangement” of installing transformer at Tesophenyu village within three days from December 13 to 15.

“It is quite evident that Tesophenyu group has been facing immense hardships without electricity for nearly 2 months owing to utter negligence and lukewarm attitude of the concerned department despite repeated requests,” lamented a press statement from AP Francis Magh, president and Michael Seb, general secretary of TGSU.

The statement noted that the union will be hosting the forthcoming 39th Rengma Students' Union (RSU) general conference from December 18 to 20 at Tesophenyu village.

“Moreover, in the absence of power supply to the village, constant and prolong deprivation of power will multiply further problems and chaos causing immeasurable consequences beyond the tolerance level of our silent patience,” it maintained.

Hence, the department concerned has been directed to immediately restore the transformer within the stipulated time, “failing which the Union will take its own course of action.”
