Medziphema, May 26 (MExN): The 22nd parting social organized by the Students Union SASRD for the outgoing B.Sc. (Ag) Hons 4th years and M.Sc (Ag) 2nd Years of SASRD, Nagaland University, Medziphema Campus was held on May 26 with Dr. D. J. Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR, Jharnapani as the chief guest.
In his speech Dr. D. J. Rajkhowa lauded the students for completing their studies and urged them to strive hard for the state, the region and the country. Agriculture is the basis for much of the industries therefore he said the students have a challenging role to play as there is immense potentials in the Northeast but there is still much to be done. He reiterated that utilization and conservation of assets must be carried out judiciously and in this goal the students have a big responsibility to shoulder.
The programme was chaired by Viqheshe S. Futhena, General Secretary, SU: SASRD, and the welcome address was given by Prof. R. C. Gupta, Dean, SASRD, while the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. N S Jamir exhorted the students. Speech on behalf of outgoing B. Sc. (Ag) Hons 4th year was given by Vanlalzarzoliana while Thepfusanuo Ngukha spoke on behalf of M. Sc (Ag) Final years. Jungshiienla, B. Sc. (Ag) Hons 3rd Year, gave a short speech on behalf of the remaining students. The B. Sc (Ag) Hons 1st years presented a special song and the vote of thanks was delivered by Kelhousituo, Vice President, SU:SASRD.
