Students urged to broaden their horizon

ASU 25th Biennial General Conference underway

The 25th Biennial General Conference of the Angami Students’ Union (ASU) got underway here this evening under the theme “Embracing a New Thinking.” Addressing the introductory session of the conference, Er. Kropol Vitsu, Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Public Relations and Printing & Stationary called upon the students to broaden their horizon and compete with the rest of the world.

“This competitive world is in the era of excellence,” Er. Vitsu stated and encouraged the students to give utmost attention to the areas they are good at, and excel in their respective fields. Stating that job avenues in the government sector has reached the saturation point, he encouraged the students to look and explore for opportunities in the private sectors and to involve in entrepreneurial activities.

MLA Khriehu Liezietsu, Advisor, Music Task Force and New & Renewable Energy and Chairman Kohima DPDB also graced the introductory session. Meanwhile, Minister for Planning & Coordination, Evaluation and Geology and Mining, T.R. Zeliang will grace the inaugural session on April 20 at 9:00 AM.
