Zunheboto, January 6 (MExN): Advisor for Tourism, Art and Culture H Khehovi Yeputhomi graced the 62nd SRSU general conference hosted by Naltoqa village as special guest.

The Advisor appreciated the students for valuing and preserving the cultural activities through such student conferences. He encouraged the students to learn to speak mother tongue properly and fluently as many these days are not able to speak their mother tongue.

A press release received here stated that the Advisor urged the students to understand the investment of money by their parents for their education to ensure decent job, decent earning for their livelihood. He told them to understand the sacrifices rendered by their parents just to educate them. He said there is no more easy employment opportunity because every government job has to now go through competitive exams.  He told the students to identify their talents because he said everyone is gifted with different talents and abilities.

However, the Advisor lamented that everyone today try to get government job unmindful of the talent he/she is gifted for their livelihood apart from government job. He said, “Pursue education diligently but at the same time they should also try to identify whether they are talented in sports, art, crafts handicrafts etc as well.”

Khehovi encouraged the students that apart from holding annual conferences they should also conduct seminars on career guidance in order to keep pace with the fast changing situations,  environment and to understand the current economy systems and current survival competitions and conditions.

Yeputhomi also said students should cultivate the policy of ‘back to village attitude’ because he said many village brought up educated and rich people are developing outside their native village, they don't think of developing their own respective villages. So he said if we want to revitalize our society and community  we need to look back to where we came from and usher in the best what each one of us can do so that rural life will be seen changing by itself.

The Advisor urged the students not to poke their nose in village administration but should focus on students welfare and progress. He said student body should be the torch bearers of the village elders in their village administrative works but should not get themselves involved in it.
