A Sükrünyi Music Festival was held on January 31 at Pfutsero town with Advisor Music Task Force & NRE, Khriehu Liezietsu as the chief guest and Commissioner & Secretary, IPR, M.K. Mero as the chief host.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said Sükrünyi was the biggest festival for the Chakhesang and Angami community and the purpose of its celebration was for self-purification. He urged the people to preserve the rich cultures and traditions which our forefathers had over the years. He also acknowledged the Chakhesang Music Society for introducing such an innovative idea where one can exhibit talents.
Commissioner & Secretary, IPR, M.K. Mero who was also the chief host said in his welcome note, the first ever Sükrünyi Music festival was organised in the area in order to showcase the talents possessed by the youngsters as God has given talent to everyone as such one should utilise one’s talent with conviction, he added.
Tavezo Theluo chaired the programme while Rev. Dr. N. Chiero invoked God’s blessing. Cultural inspiration was presented by Nüzovolü and Alune and special number was presented by Wekhro-ü Thele. Vote of thanks was proposed by Francis Dukhru.
