Sümi Baptist Pastors’ Conference 38th session concludes

Sitimi, November 18 (MExN): The 38th session of Sümi Baptist Pastors’ Conference hosted by Sitimi village was held from November 15-17. The conference was attended by around 320 leaders from 98 Churches.
Media Cell, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu (SBAK) in a press release stated that on the opening day, Sühokhu Aye, head GB of Sitimi Village welcomed the delegates and recollected how Christianity was introduced in Sumi land, and testified how he witnessed the tireless effort of BI Anderson and Delano who were the pioneering missionaries to Sumi land. Rev. Vikuto Pastor of Vedami Baptist Church delivered the sermon.
On the second day, the conference began with an exhortation by D Yevito Chisho, Additional Director SCERT followed by a workshop session. During the workshop, Julie D Chishi, wife of senior Pastor Zunheboto town, spoke on the perspectives of a pastor’s spouse and stressed on the need to give equal importance to family despite busy schedules. Kikhu H Achumi, State Planning Co-ordinator SSA, son of Rev Henito of Natha Old, spoke on how pastor’s kids go through their lives, the pressure and expectations society imposes are huge and stated that pastor’s kids are no different from others.
The workshop concluded with a paper presentation by Lujeka Assumi, Asst. Pastor, Sumi Baptist Church Kohima, he talked about the need to rightfully use technological devices and on pros and cons of media culture.
On the concluding day, Francis Hekavi, Functional Manager, Sub-district Industries Centre Niuland brought greetings and Inakhu Chishi, Youth Secretary SBAK preached the word of God. The conference ended with a sermon by Pastor Akheyi Chophi, while Okuku Sutsa, a band from Surhuto presented a special song. Pastors’ Conference Chairman Mughaho Awomi, Pastor Kiphire Town said the vote of thanks.
