The three-day Golden Jubilee celebration of the Sumi Baptist Theological Association (SBTA) commenced on May 15 at the Rev Dr Kavito Zhimo Hall, Trinity Theological College (TTC), Dimapur.
The Jubilee, held under the theme “Ghile Hukülü Lokivi,” began with the hoisting of the Jubilee flag by Rev Zühokhü Kiba, former treasurer of the SBTA.
The SBTA Jubilee Monolith was unveiled by Hekhuli Y Zhimo and dedicated by Rev Dr Khehovi Shohe.
During the inaugural ceremony, featuring a presentation by TTC students, Principal Rev Dr Hukato N Shohe welcomed the congregation and highlighted the significance of hosting the milestone event.
In his presidential address, the SBTA President honoured the founding members for their sacrifices and highlighted the organization’s growth to over 3,000 members, noting a significant increase in ordained women ministers.
Rev Dr Kiyeto G Sema, former president of the SBTA, delivered a message urging attendees to bear a good testimony and focus on the Bible.
The opening prayer was led by Kughazhe K Zhimo, Pastor, SBC Mokokchung, with musical performances by Dimapur Area WSBAK and the Jubilee Choir.
Rev Tovishe Sema, Secretary, DoME, WSBAK, led the offertory and a special prayer for TTC. Furthermore, Prof Rev Dr Akheto Sema, President, National Council of Baptist Churches in India, dedicated the Jubilee souvenir.
The session was chaired by Rev Khetoni Chishi, Woman Pastor, DSBC, with Inoto H Tuccu serving as recordist, and concluded with a benediction by Mughahoto Zhimo, Pastor, Sumi Christian Fellowship, Shillong.
