Zunheboto, October 2 (MExN): Sumi Hoho has expressed happiness that on the invitation of Government of India, the NNPGs had first round of talk with the Centre on September 27. “It has been a heart-burning desire of every Naga that the Government of India takes on board all the Naga Political Groups for talks on permanent settlement,” stated Sumi Hoho president, Hekhushe Shikhu and general secretary, Nikheto Jimomi.
In this context, the Hoho extended gratitude to the Government of India, the Interlocutor RN Ravi and the WC of NNPGs for fulfilling the long cherished dreams of Nagas. “We are optimistic that an acceptable solution shall be hammered out sooner or later as the Nagas have suffered enough for decades,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Hoho appealed that due consideration be given to NSCN (K) for peace talks as “we cannot afford to leave out any groups.” In this regard, it urged the GoI to take up certain confidence building measures to encourage the NSCN (K) to come to the negotiating table.
