Morung Express News Dimapur | November 26 Sumi Students’ Union Bengaluru celebrated 25th anniversary at the United Theological College, Benson Town, Bengalaru on Saturday. Speaking as the chief guest, Secretary, Land Resources, Y. Kikheto Sema (IAS) urged upon the students not to let the jubilee be a mere celebration but to retrospect, cherish the past, forgive each other and carry forward the good things. He also said jubilee celebration was a time to fondly remember the pioneers and be grateful to them for the foundation laid. Kikheto said leaders should seek blessings of the pioneers and carry forward their legacy of good deeds. “Naga people are suffering from their unforgiving nature and we should all be able to admit where we went wrong and forgive each other,” he added. According to the speaker, Naga society was also suffering from truth deficiency and maintained that it was time to speak the truth in all spheres. He said Nagas were a small family and that they should not try to make it smaller by avoidable fragmentations. Kikheto said that organizing various programmes by all tribal units separately leaves less time for students to concentrate in their studies and urged upon the students to minimise their social programmes. He also reiterated his call to the student community to work towards clean election in Nagaland by playing their part. The programme was also attended by office bearers of Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru, Sumi Kiphimi Kuqhakulu Nagaland, other tribal student units of Bengaluru.
