Sumis and Yimchungrus resolve to strengthen ties

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 20 (MExN): The Sumi Hoho and the Yimchungru Tribal Council, in a joint meeting today, resolved to “strengthen and uphold the age old relationship between the Sumi and Yimchungru and also stand beside one another at any circumstances in the future.”

The meeting further agreed that the two Hohos will hold “brotherhood meetings” once in 3 years at Zunheboto HQ and Shamator HQ alternatively, which will conincide with “cultural exchanges” to further strengthen their relationship. This was informed in a joint statement issued by Sumi Hoho President, Hovishe Arkha and Yimchungru Tribal Council President, M Thsesong.

The two organizations had met at Circuit house where they had “a threadbare discussion and deliberation pertaining to the issues regarding bilateral relationship between the two tribes.”
