DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 29 (MExN): The Seyochung Village Government Employees’ Union (SVGEU) Kiphire on Thursday paid a visit to the District Jail Kiphire and interacted with the inmates.
According to a press release from the SVGEU president Daniel Sechopi Sangtam and general secretary K Alipa Sangtam, members of the union during the interaction exhorted the inmates to take their detention as an opportunity to reform and be rehabilitated and also urged them to restore their lives constructively and not to make their past lives a barrier for the future.
The union with the objective to facilitate the inmates to develop skills and aptitudes towards secure and right means of livelihood provided materials for craft making like bamboo, plastic strings, paints, brushes, glues etc, the press release stated.
Meanwhile, the union expressed gratitude to the jail authorities for the support and cooperation extended during the visit.
