Sweven from Pfutsero emerged as the winner of the First Phek District Beat Contest which was organized by Lexicon Club in collaboration with Nagaland State AIDS Control Society at the Phek Town Local Ground. Black Violence from Phek and Melodic from Chozuba were placed 1st and 2nd runners up respectively in the contest which saw 11 bands competing. Sweven walked away with cash prize of Rs 50,000 while the first and second runners-up won cash prizes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. Winners under individual categories are: Best Vocalist – Velhoukhro of Sweven; Best guitarist – Ying of Black violence; Best bassist – Vekhosa of Sweven; Best Drummer – Lanu of Black Violence; Best Keyboardist – Zito of Melodic.
