Dimapur, February 8 (MExN): Nagaland’s T. Sangtam has been conferred 6th DAN by the Karate Association of India (KAI) thus becoming the first person from the state to receive the grade.
Shihan T. Sangtam was awarded the 6th DAN certificate in recognition of his achievements in Karate and his name included in the records of the Karate Association of India.
The certificate bearing Certificate Number 04115 was issued on February 1, 2018 during the KAI Cadet, Junior & U21 national Karate Championship which was held from January 30 to February 2 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
Meanwhile, the International Shito Ryu Karate Federation, India (ISKF-India) has extended congratulations to Shihan T. Sangtam on becoming the first person from the state to receive the 6th DAN grade from KAI.
The Karate Association of India (KAI) is the only National Federation of Karate in India affiliated with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), World Karate Federation (WKF), Asian Karate Do Federation (AKF) and the South Asian karate Do Federation (SAKF).
It may be noted that Shihan T. Sangtam is also the President of International Shito Ryu Karate Federation, India (ISKF-India) and All Nagaland Karate Do Association (ANKA).
