DIMAPUR, MAY 18 (MExN): The Tirap Changlang Longding People's Forum (TCLPeF) has condemned the killing of a person and injuring several others at Pumao, Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh on May 16.
“Such inhuman act upon unarmed innocent civilian is condemnable and a total violation of human rights. Insane atrocities and killing by Indian Army upon innocent public has ever been unabated in TCL district in name of AFSPA as such countless innocents have lost their precious lives,” a press release from the TCLPeF said.
“At the moment when Government of India and Naga people are working hard to bring about the peace solution in the region, very unfortunately that indiscipline and erring officers of Indian Army at their whim rampantly terrorizing the peace loving people for no valid reason,” the forum said.
It demanded that an immediate judicial inquiry be initiated and those responsible be punished. It also appealed that compensation be given to the family of the deceased and the injured.
