The TfW movement started from Nagaland in November 2019, said Doulo while addressing a press conference for its forthcoming event ‘Run to Reforest’ in Kohima.

He announced that tEA plans to plant 2 million fruit trees and 3 million non fruit trees by 2025, 10 million non-fruit trees by 2030, 200 million fruit trees and 500 million non-fruit trees by 2035.

The TfW is a movement that is aligning tEA’s existing mission to promote entrepreneurship and livelihood development with climate action.

“The movement while positively impacting our environment will generate incomes, create local jobs, support ancillary industries and most importantly reverse urbanization by helping farmers thrive in their homeland,” said Doulo.

At present, tEA is working with 27, 000 farmers across Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh through various agri- promotion livelihood initiatives. It is confident that the given current trajectory the targets will be achieved.

tEA is also collaborating with the government, CSRs, citizenry and partners with similar visions towards this end.

Meanwhile, ‘Run to Reforest’ is an event to create awareness about the dire need for combating climate change and garner public participation toward planting trees. It is scheduled to be held on November 11 in Kohima.
